東京都千代田区生まれ、鵠沼で少年時代を過ごす。その頃からサーフィンとスケートボードに熱中し、数々の大会で活躍。二十歳の時に渡米し、その後すぐ、Dogtown Skateboardsのメンバーとしてブランドを立ちあげ、西海岸から世界のスケートブームに火をつける。

一方、モーターサイクルや車に造詣が深く、ハーレーをこよなく愛し、モンゴルスやヴァゴスといったバイカーギャングと親交のある数少ない日本人。

スーサイダル・テンデンシーズを筆頭にThe Black Tibetansなど数々のバンドとも交流を持ち、現在は日本とアメリカを行き来する生活を送る。

Hot Bike JAPANとかDOGTOWN SKATEとかいろいろVenice Califで何となく始めて40年経ってから日本の茅ヶ崎でMar Vista Gsrdenっていう夢の世界を経てまだ生きてる男、シラセイズミ。

He was born in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, and spent his youth in Kugenuma, where he became deeply engrossed in surfing and skateboarding, excelling in numerous competitions. At the age of twenty, he moved to the United States. Soon after, as a member of Dogtown Skateboards, he helped launch the brand, igniting the global skate boom from the West Coast.

Beyond action sports, he possesses a profound knowledge of motorcycles and cars, with a deep love for Harleys. He is one of the few Japanese individuals with close ties to biker gangs like the Mongols and Vagos. He also maintains connections with numerous bands, including Suicidal Tendencies and The Black Tibetans. Currently, he divides his time between Japan and the United States.
